WRITING TIPS: THE BIG MOVE SAMPLE ANSWERS

My CALC students have been doing a writing task in class by answering a problem page from a magazine. You can have a look at the results below and try to correct the mistakes we have marked in red. Can you guess what the correct way of saying those expressions is? Try to check not only grammar, but also punctuation. Share your versions in the comments section below!!

THE LANGUAGE ASSISTANT IS NOW VISITING MY INTENSIVE INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH STUDENTS

My INTENSIVE INTERMEDIATE 2 COURSE has just been appointed a new foreign language assistant for the new term. 

His name is Jarrett MacDowell. He is from North Carolina in USA and he will presumably be involved with conversation classes. He lives in Pontevedra and has been working at our school community for over a year now. We met Jarrett today and I am proud of the warm welcome my students gave him!!

Jarrett will be teaching my intensive intermediate students every Thursday. I am afraid we won't meet him often but you will see him in the school corridors and he will be more than glad to talk to you!!

MONOLOGUE: ACTIVITIES FOR THE ELDERLY

There are some enjoyable days in class when we have fun recording our own voices to practise monologue speaking for the exam. Here is a very good example!! Would you like to leave some comments on Bea´s performance? I have my own opinion but.. what is yours?

Hi there again!

we had a great time at the library today, didn't we? Having an informal chat, talking about books and films and tasting a nice cup of hot coffee is one of the best ways to say good-bye to our term!!

As classes this year are coming to an end, I just wanted to give you a nice Christmas present... a class you will always remember. Hope I got it!!
